Parent FAQ's

  • What is required of parents during our Excel class day?
Volunteer requirements: When taking membership with Excel for His glory you are agreeing to serve within this program. We Require a minimum commitment of two hours volunteering during our Excel day each week. Each family is required to fulfill a set amount of clean ups following the program. Please recognize that this is our minimum requirement, yet at times more will be required. If we are short handed on a particular day, we will utilize more volunteer hours, to prevent a cancellation if at all possible. Since we run on volunteers we cannot operate without them. In the case of an absence: In the case of a needed absence, we ask that you give as much notice as possible to the Excel Board and then our volunteer and clean up coordinators. We ask that you make every effort to find your own replacement and then present that replacement to the board when informing us of your absence. In the case of an emergency please inform us and we will take care of finding your replacement.
  • Is Excel a drop-off program?
Excel is not a drop off program. Each parent is responsible for their children at all times and must remain on church property. Children will not be allowed to leave the premises without their parent or designated guardian. All students enrolled must have a pre approved parent/adult family member on location responsible for them at all times with no exceptions.
  • Must I fulfill my volunteer hours?
Yes, please ensure that you are able to set aside the time required before seeking membership. We need the involvement of each member to provide enrichment opportunities to each family. When everyone does their part we are able to function well and do the most good for every individual. We appreciate all of our members' service to our program. The time and talents they share are what make our program run effectively. You must fulfill your hours for your membership to remain in good standing. Please understand that everyone will be serving a minimum of two hours whether as a teacher, classroom volunteer, or serving with our set up team or clean up team. Once committed We will be counting on the fact that you will be present and prepared to help. We expect all volunteers to be present, punctual and prepared to assist our local homeschoolers. We value and esteem our co-laborers in the ministry of educating our children for the glory of the Lord.
  • Is Excel assuming responsibility for my students' education?
Excel for His Glory is in NO way assuming or accepting responsibility for your students' education. As an enrichment program our purpose is providing enrichment classes to enhance the educational, social, and spiritual growth of the individual homeschools. You are responsible for your own curriculum and overseeing your students' education. Our classes can be used supplementary and in addition to your homeschool courses. Yet not as your full course load. We are here as a support for both the homeschooling parent and student.
  • Does Excel support or follow a specific education model?
As a program we support your family's personal choice of education model. As we believe each parent has a unique teaching style and each student a unique learning style. As an enrichment program we do not follow or endorse any particular education model. All our teachers are required to teach from a biblical worldview.
